    Facts about Facebook:  In 2011,  70% of small business owners chose to use Facebook for marketing their products.  Facebook has more than 500 million active users.  If Facebook were a country, it would be the third most populous, behind only India and China.  If your library isn’t on Facebook, then join us to learn how to create a community organization page.  Or if you are on Facebook, learn how to fine-tune your posts.There is no fee.  Instructor:  Geoff Scheller & Melissa Rowse

    The four hour session will follow the life-cycle of an employee, starting with interviewing, hiring, performance expectations and effective evaluations. We will discuss the manager’s responsibility to clearly communicate, discipline/accolades, complete job performances, and ensure a safe and compliant work environment. We will review the importance of compliance with workers comp, leave laws as well as the recent changes in the American with Disabilities Act.We will end the seminar with a session on how to respectfully terminate an employee and the essential laws needed to be considered. Grace Kelly, RC Kelly Law Associates, will highlight HR best practices alongside employment law regulations and compliance. The workshop is coupled with a presentation, interactive group discussions, and exercises to ensure engaged and active learning.There is a $30 fee, which includes lunch, course materials, and a parking pass. The district cannot issue refunds. Please feel free to send a substitute. 4 CE hours will be awarded.
