individual to serve as full time librarian/director. The library

and administration of Columbia County Traveling Library, a bookmobile
centered library, and its staff.

Training Month is an educational and fun program to increase staff
knowledge and help maximize circulation of your OverDrive 'Virtual
Branch'. The curriculum covers each area of your service: User Experience, Patron Assistance and Community

session, Mobile Update, covering new and upcoming mobile features to
enhance your library's OverDrive service.
Sessions
will be offered online throughout September with open enrollment
for individuals and groups. New for 2010: Audio for Training Month sessions will be provided
via speakers/headphones on your computer. A phone
connection is NOT required.

Helping Job Seekers: Using Electronic Tools and Federal Resources
Free 90-minute recorded webinar to provide an overview of the public workforce system
and present the electronic tools most helpful to library staff who
assist unemployed workers. Attendees will learn how to direct patrons to
the right tools for their needs and to find local Workforce System
partners. The presentation will also include an online tour of the O*NET System, CareerOneStop.org and America's Service Locator and including Occupational Crosswalks, job search/resume preparation and State Job Banks and Labor Market Information.
Eligible for CE Credit.

The Learning Express Library service will end for NCLD Libraries on August 31, 2010. For all NCLD Libraries hosted by Siteground hosting your links to the service will be removed on September 1. Some libraries are planning to keep the service and fund this locally. Learning Express will be providing me with a list and I will help you promote the service with video ads, and other promotional items.

Access PA/POWER Library Online Courses Now Available Via WebJunction PA Are you new to Access PA/POWER Library? Have you used Ask Here PA and want to learn more about it? Or, do you need continuing ed credits?Access PA, POWER Library and Ask Here PA training is now available online through WebJunction!
The Access PA Database Online Beginner Training Course covers using the Access PA website, searching the Access PA Database, using the VDX ILL system, and keeping your library's holdings updated in the Database.
The POWER Library: AP Images course includes an introduction to the AP Images online interface, navigation and set-up options and searching each of the archives. The Understanding and Promoting Ask Here PA online course focuses on understanding how Ask Here PA works and on using, evaluating and promoting this valuable service.
Students are able to access the courses from any computer connected to the Internet to work independently any time of day or night. All certified Pennsylvania librarians and library aides are eligible to receive Act 48 continuing education credit hours upon completion of the courses.
